JV Volleyball at Scottsdale Prep

North Pointe’s JV Volleyball team had a rough time with the powerful serving of Scottsdale Prep, and fell in the match 2-0. The Falcons did have it’s own good serves from Gen Agsaulio, Ayannah Glesmann, and Nicole Rodriguez. “The team needs to keep working hard and we will get better,” said coach Keith.

Varsity Sand Volleyball vs Trivium Prep

North Pointe finished their home schedule this evening hosting Trivium Prep.  The Falcons had another strong showing keeping games tight all night, but were unabated to overcome Trivium defense.  Julia and Emily and Abby and Jasmine’s teams took both of their matches to the wire with strong serving and smart offense causing a lot of chaos. The Falcons will finish up the regular season next Wednesday as they travel to Horizon Park to take of Scottsdale Prep. “Tonight we were at the wire in strong matches, against experienced teams. The effort is there, we were smart in how we approached things, and couldn’t close it out.  It all part of the learning process. We are moving in the right direction,” said Coach Walsh.

Varsity Sand Volleyball vs Horizon Honors

North Pointe returned to sand tonight, after a flooded court on Wednesday delayed the match.  Horizon Honors came in undefeated and though the Falcons put up a tough fight, could not overcome the Eagles. Standouts tonight were Kenia and Shavonne, as they kept things close early, and Julia and Emma also had a strong match. Sometimes you play a team and are just over matched, but the only things that matters is the fight you show. You can learn from that, and gain confidence,” said Coach Walsh.

Varsity Sand Volleyball vs Joy Christian

The Falcons were back in action after a week off and the extra practice time paid off as they swept Joy Christian 5-0. Tonight’s standouts were Julia and Emma, as they won handily in two sets, as well as Alexis Norton and Tiahnna Newman winning in two sets.  Jazmine Norton and Abby Rice, battled back after losing the first game, before crushing their opponent in the next two sets, winning game 3 by a 15-4 score. “Tonight we were able to put it all together, and win the tough points, and close out games. It was a great step forward,” said Coach Walsh.

Varsity Sand Volleyball vs Valley Christian

The second half of the sand season kicked off tonight, as your Falcons took on powerhouse Valley Christian.  Even though the Falcons were swept tonight, they continue to take strides forward, as each of the matches were close against a much stronger opponent. Julia and Emma put up the strongest games tonight, keeping things close with long rally’s and strong serving up until the final points, as did Faith and Alexis as they locked horns in a serving battle. The Falcons are off the rest of the week, and don’t play again until Monday the 27th, against Joy Christian. “Our rallies are getting longer, and we continue to push forward and battle for each point, that is a good first step, but the next step we have to take is to learn how to close those out,” said Coach Walsh.

Varsity Sand Volleyball vs Casteel

Tonight the Falcons traveled to Gilbert to take on Casteel and rebounded from the tough night Wednesday. Abby Rice and Jasmine Norton took their match to the wire losing in 3, as did Julia Burke and Emma Wales along with Kenia Esquival and Shavonne Street. “Tonight we showed the fight that is going to carry us through the rest of the season. We are getting better each day; it was fun to watch how hard we worked and watched some really solid volleyball,” said Coach Walsh.
