Jr. High Football – Bowl Game vs Paradise Honors at Odyssey

The Falcons ended their season on a sour note, losing to Paradise Honors by a final score of 58-0.  The offense was led by Mason Shaffer who had several big runs throughout the day. The offensive line of Lorenzo Ramirez, Eden Viscalla, JC Clark, Nasar Sinnokrot and Calista Vallelonga played well all day. Erik Estrada had three tackles including a touchdown saving tackle early. Aiden Borresen and Kaleb Goslin played hard on both sides of the ball. Ryan Williams and Steve Helmintaler played well on special teams. “This was definitely not the way we thought the season would go, but I couldn’t be more proud of the 12 Falcons that stick it out to the end and never stopped fighting. These young students already have the Falcon Strong attitude that will carry them far in the future. Thank you for a great season,” Coach Scott said after the game.

Jr. High Football at Gilbert Christian

The Falcons played with great effort and heart, yet lost to the Knights of Gilbert Christian won by a score of 41-0. The defense was led today by Erik Estrada who had three tackles, a pass breakup and an interception. Kevin Valenzuela and JC Clark also came up with big plays on defense. Offensively QB Mason Shaffer has a number of great passes. Eden Viscalla, James Winbush, Naser Sinokrott, JC Clark, and Lorenzo Ramirez, all played great on the line playing both offense and defense. “Today is one of those days we’re the scoreboard doesn’t reflect how hard these guys worked. I couldn’t more proud of a group, as these 11 guys that fought hard all day. We look forward to playing our bowl game next week and continuing to get better as a unit,” said coach Scott.

Jr. High Football vs Scottsdale Christian

The North Pointe Falcons lost by a score of 52-0 against the Eagles of Scottsdale Christian. The offense led by quarterback Mason Shaffer had several big plays. Corey Hines had several long runs. Diego Jimenez and Mason Natzel has big hits on defense. “Turnovers were the deciding factor today. We will spend the next two weeks working on ball control to start turning long drives into scoring drives,” Coach Scott said after the game.

Jr. High Football vs North Phoenix Prep

The Falcons lost 46-8 on Saturday to the Gladiators. The offense played hard with Mason Shaffer completing a 23 yard touchdown pass to Corey Hines. Kevin Valenzuela converted a 2-point conversion on a quarterback keeper. The defense suffered numerous injuries but played hard as a unit. Mason Shaffer recovered a fumbled after delivering a big hit. Big plays were made by Diego Jimenez, Kaleb Goslin, and Steven Helmintaler on the defensive side of the ball. “We played hard all day and were a play away on a number of occasions from changing the game. The second half was played mistake free and we executed the offense well. We’ll take this week to get focused and prepared to play Falcon Strong Football,” said Coach Scott.

Jr. High Football at Odyssey

The North Pointe Falcons played well against a tough Odyssey team. Despite their efforts they came up short losing 30-0. Offensively, Mason Shaffer, Kevin Valenzuela, Corey Hines and the entire line played great. Defensively, Mason Natzel, JC Clark, Dakota Ivett, and Diego Jimenez all made great plays. “Turnovers were the difference today. We had three drives end due to fumbles and we struggled to rebound. Big plays are usually the story of the game and this week we didn’t make enough of them. We will work hard on ball security this week and come back stronger next week,” Coach Scott said after the game.

Jr. High Football vs Trivium Prep at North Phoenix Prep

The North Pointe Falcons were defeated by a score of 28-0 versus Trivium Prep on Saturday. The offense struggled to move the ball on the ground, but Quarterback Mason Shaffer had three completions to Ryan Williams. The defense was led by Devin Covarrubias who had two sacks and several big hits. “We came out sluggish and struggled to establish anything early. But the team fought hard until the end. We will come together as coaches and a team this week and work to rebound next week,” coach Scott said after the game.

Jr. High Football vs Paradise Honors at Trivium Prep

The Falcons suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday, falling to the Panthers by a score of 16-6. The offense was led by Kevin Valenzuela who tossed a 96 yard touchdown pass to Corey Hines. Defensively, linebacker Devin Covarrubias led the charge with an interception that helped spark the team. “Overall, I found some great things to build on, but we also have a lot to work on as we prepare to face Trivium next week,” Coach Scott said after the game.
