Varsity Softball vs River Valley – AIA State Tournament

The North Pointe Falcons season came to an end as the Falcons lost 9-1. Sophomore pitcher Reyna Caudillo had 12 strikeouts and 2 assists. Sophomore Sara Strey scored a run on a hit and a stolen base. Sophomore Sophia Rabayda recorded a hit and an RBI. After the season Coach Gil said, “Overall, this was a season of ups and downs. Our highlights include a runner up trophy in the Carl Hayden Tournament and the deepest run into the state playoffs in school history. Our graduating seniors leave a legacy as the winningest in the programs history and that’s something all of us are extremely proud of. Looking forward to the future, we are still an extremely young team, by comparison and I expect us to be a tough out for everyone for years to come.”

Varsity Softball vs Payson – AIA State Tournament

The North Pointe Falcons won their opening round playoff game Saturday against Payson by a final of 6-0. Pitcher Reyna Caudillo had a complete game shut out, allowing just two hits over 7 innings. The scoring was started by Freshman Reyna Gil who drove in the games first run in the 4th inning. Carly Cabral had a run and an RBI while reaching base each time she stepped to the plate. “Today we executed the little things when we need to and got a great win for North Pointe softball. We hope to see a lot more fans next Friday as we continue our playoff run,” coach Gil said after the game.

Varsity Softball at ASU Prep

The Falcons won their regular season finale, beating ASU Prep by a score of 15-2. Senior Mandy Castro picked up the win in her final regular season game for North Pointe. Reyna Caudillo had a home run and 4 RBIs while Josh Martin and Cynthia Gil both scored 4 Runs. “I was happy for the seniors who worked so hard though some good season and not so good seasons to end their regular season in this fashion. Now it’s on to the playoffs and we hope to see a lot of falcon fans on Saturday,” coach Gil said after the game.

Varsity Softball vs Casteel

The North Pointe Falcons came up a little short falling to Casteel by a final of 2-3. The offense was led by Reyna Caudillo and Cynthia Gil who both went 2 for 3 with two doubles. Collete Gallagher and Josh Martin recorded two outs for the defense and Reyna Caudillo recorded 14 strikeouts. “I want to thank Mandy Castro, Nichole Palma, Lissett Hernandez, and Kristin Herity for their contributions to North Pointe Softball over the last 4 seasons. Going forward, we have to execute the game plan and making sure the little things are important to us,” Coach Gil said after the game.

Varsity Softball vs Scottsdale Christian

The Falcons defeated the Scottsdale Christian Eagles with a final score of 7-6. Sophomore pitchers Reyna Caudillo and Sophia Rabayda combined to strikeout 17 batters during the 7 inning contest. Junior Collette Gallagher went 1 for 2 with 3 RBI and a run scored. Freshman Reyna Gil drove in the game winning run in the top of the 7th inning. “Overall I was pleased to not see a big let down coming off such a big win on Tuesday. As a team, we would also like to thank the North Pointe track and field team for coming out and supporting us. We really fed off of their energy and hope to see more students coming out to support us as we get closer to the post season,” Coach Gil said after the game.

Varsity Softball vs Yuma Catholic

The North Pointe Falcons beat the #1 team in the state Yuma Catholic with a dramatic come from behind 4-3 victory on Tuesday.
