HS Varsity Girls Basketball – AIA State Tournament at Winslow HS

North Pointe Prep played a tough game against Winslow High School in the First Round of the State Tournament but lost 57-27. The Lady Falcons were led by Jalisa Garcia with 9 points and followed by Jasmine Langston with 7 points. Josh Martin and Michelle Olotu chipped in with 3 points apiece. The ladies accomplished a lot this year by attaining a winning season and an appearance in the State Tournament for the first time in about 7 seasons.
Belen Markus and Jasmine Langston are our only seniors who made great contributions to our team and they will be missed next season. We have 9 Juniors returning next season which will help us to make another trip to the State Tournament. “I am very proud of what they accomplished this season and look forward to their improvement and success next season,” said Coach Plaza.

Varsity Girls Basketball vs ASU Prep

North Pointe Prep defeated ASU Prep in their last home game this season on Senior Night 47-9. Our Seniors Jasmine Langston and Belen Markus were valuable players this year and previous seasons and were a pleasure to have on our team. The Lady Falcons were led by Jalisa Garcia with 13 points followed by Josh Martin with 10 points while McKenzie Mordhorst and Xena Benitez chipped in with 8 points apiece. ” The ladies finished the season strong with great defense and good shooting. It has been a great season for this team and they’ve accomplished a lot in a very short time. Congratulations Lady Falcons,”  said Coach Plaza.

Varsity Girls Basketball at Valley Christian

North Pointe Prep lost to Valley Christian 93-20. The Lady Falcons were led by Josh Martin with 6 points and followed by Jasmine Langston with 4 points. “They had a tough game missing some shots early in the game. Valley Christian is a very good team and all of their players can shoot and distribute the ball. The ladies played hard the whole game and will continue to get better,” said Coach Plaza.

JV Girls Basketball at Valley Christian

The JV Lady Falcons lost their final game of the season by a score of 57-14 against Valley Christian. Sharon Larsala played her best game of the year by scoring 10 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Alma Pineda and Kate Zapata added to the score with 2 points each. Coach Reed said “Throughout the entire game the ladies never stopped hustling. They never gave up the fight. The referees also complimented the girls on their excellent sportsmanship.” Good job ladies on a great season! You worked hard and your skills improved.

JV Girls Basketball at Casteel

The JV Lady Falcons lost to the Casteel Colts by a score of 55-39. Our leading scorer for the game was Cianya Murillo with 10 points. Desirae Mena popped in 8 points and Alma Pineda added 6 points. Other contributions were made by Sharon Larsala with 5 points and Abigail Zugaste and Markita Echeverri with 4 points each.
