Tonight the Falcons played a match against Chandler Prep at Ken McDonald Golf Course. Adam Boyd was the low player through six holes, finishing as medalist. Jared Reeves also led the Falcons with a top four finish. “The course was very difficult today because they just reopened after overseeding. The greens were very slow but our kids fought through it. I was happy with the way they carried themselves,” said Coach Kontak.
The Falcons hosted a dual meet against Veritas Prep. There were 9 total players, 2 of which were from the Prep. Adam Boyd was low scorer from North Pointe with a 51. Adam finished 5th out of 9 players. “Both Adam and Jared really competed today. I was happy to see them fight through the tough spots and finish strong. We have two more matches this season and there is no doubt both players are getting better.”
Today the Falcons traveled to the 500 Club to compete with Glendale Prep. Adam Boyd was not only low score for North Pointe, but also took home low score honors for the entire match. Adam’s score of 33 was good enough to beat all the other golfers who competed. Glendale Prep’s low scores were a pair of 34’s. “It was great to see Adam go out there and compete with all of the other quality players. I was really happy for him, he was able to hit some really good shots when all eyes were on him,” said Coach Kontak.
Today the Falcons took on Trivium at Encanto Golf Course. Low score for the Falcons was Adam Boyd with a 44, which was good for second place in the match. Adam went toe to toe with the number one player from Trivium and came up just short on the last hole. “Both of our players did very well for their first match this season. Adam is a very good player and I know he will finish better in our next match,” said Coach Kontak. “Today was a lot of fun.”
The Falcons faced off against Chandler Prep in the Chandler Prep match. Adam Boyd led the Falcons to start off the match. Boyd finished the round in first place with the lowest score of 40. Jason Reeves finished in 3rd place with a score of 53. Nathan Staley finished in 4th place with a score of 55. Every Falcon had their lowest round of the season and defeated the Chandler Prep Titans 195-199. “Together we have grown as a team and have come so far. Everyday we get better and we are finishing this season at our peak,” said Coach Gow.
The Falcons faced off against North Phoenix Prep and Phoenix Country Day School at the PCDS Invitational. Adam Boyd led the Falcons to start off the match. Boyd finished the round with a 55. Michael Ulloa finished the round with a 62, 9 strokes fewer than his last round. Collin Nohowec finished with a 68, 3 strokes fewer than his last round. “We have improved so much this season. I can’t wait to see what happens at the last couple of invitationals this season,” said Coach Gow.
