Jr. High Cross Country – Championship Meet at Bullard Wash Park

The Jr. High Cross Country team represented North Pointe well in the Championship Meet at Bullard Wash Park. 8th graders Kailyn Banks and Frida Escamilla led the girls with times of 16:19 and 16:41 respectively, and 7th grader Nicolas Gamboa led the boys with a personal best time of 14:01. “Every athlete worked really hard and improved incredibly over the season, and they should be very proud of all they have accomplished,” said Coach Stephenson.

Jr. High Cross Country at Red Mountain Park

The Jr. High Cross Country team did well in their final regular meet of the season at Red Mountain Park. 7th grader Nicolas Gamboa led the boys with a 2.11 mile time of  14.50 while 8th grader Kailyn Banks led the girls with a time of 16:06. “The kids ran a strong race, and it will be fun to see how they compete in next week’s championship meet,” said Coach Stephenson.

Jr. High Cross Country at Granada Park

The Falcons looked much stronger in their second meet of the season at Granada Park. Seventh graders Daniel Gallardo Diaz and Nicolas Gamboa led the boys with a 2-mile time of 14:52 and 14:53 respectively, and eighth graders Kailyn Banks and Alexis Mounts led the girls with times of 16:39 and 17:06. “All of the athletes have been working hard in practices, and it definitely showed in their improvement today,” said Coach Stephenson.

Jr. High Cross Country at Espee Park

The North Pointe Jr. High Cross Country team competed well in their first meet of the season at Espee Park. 7th grader Nico Gamboa led the boys with a 2-mile time of 15:06, and 8th grader Kailyn Banks led the girls with a time of 15:47. “It was a great start to the season, and I look forward to seeing them improve each meet,” said Coach Stephenson.

The Falcons did an incredible job representing North Pointe in the the Cross Country Championship Meet at Bullard Wash Park. 8th grader Elijah Flannery once again led the way for the guys while 7th grader Alexis Mounts had a strong race to lead for the ladies. “I am so proud of everything this group of kids accomplished this year,” said Coach Stephenson. “They came out and worked hard at every practice and meet, and they made this a fun season.”

Jr. High Cross Country at Freestone Park

With no boys there to run, it was up to the Lady Falcons to represent North Pointe at the cross country meet at Freestone Park in Gilbert, and they did a great job. 7th grader Alexis Mounts led the way for the Falcons. “The girls looked strong today and ran well,” said Coach Stephenson.

Jr. High Cross Country at Kiwanis Park

The Cross Country team had a great meet at Kiwanis Park in New River, and this time 7th grader Alexis Mounts led the girls with a great time of 16:30, and 8th grader Elijah Flannery led the boys with a time of 17:14. “This was a rocky course, and a few of the kids took tumbles,” said Coach Stephenson, “but they hopped back up and finished strong.”
