Today the North Pointe Prep Falcons took on the Tempe Prep Knights in a basketball game that ended 44-6 in favor of the Knights. The Falcons fought hard in the first half, keeping it close the whole time. Several players played very good defense throughout the game. Brian Medina led the Falcons in scoring with 3 points. ” We played hard the whole game but it seemed like there was a lid on the basket for us. I’m proud of how the boys finished off this season,” said Coach Pacitti.
Today the Falcons lost an incredibly close game to the Anthem Prep Eagles by a score of 26-23. The game was as exciting as they come, all the way to the last buzzer. The Falcons were down by 9 points with 40 seconds left and Devin Covarrubias hit 2 3-pointers to add to his game leading 12 points. Kevin Valenzuela and Brayan Mendoza made steals at the end to help the comeback effort. “I was so proud of the way they played today, they really left everything they had out on that court and I can’t ask for any better hustle than that,” said Coach Pinches.
Today the North Pointe Prep Falcons took on the Glendale Prep Griffins in a Jr. High Boys Basketball game ending 53-14 with the Griffins winning the game. The Falcons were limited in bench players tonight so all 8 guys played very meaningful minutes. They fought hard all game and everyone was very involved in each play. Kevin Valenzuela led the team in scoring with 6 points. “The guys were on short rest and were missing 2 bench players today and still found the energy to keep up the pace and play hard, I thought the effort was there all game,” said Coach Pinches.
Today the North Pointe Prep Jr. High Boys Basketball team faced off against the Paradise Honors Panthers in a game ending 62-19 in favor of the Panthers. The Falcons fought hard, having several different players score. Their energy was high all game and they competed very well. Devin Covarrubias led the team in scoring with 8 points. “I was very happy with the way the guys competed tonight; no matter what the score is, they always give it their best effort,” said Coach Pinches.
Today the North Pointe Prep Falcons Jr. High Boys Basketball team faced the North Phoenix Prep Gladiators in a competition ending 35-10 in favor of the Gladiators. The Falcons played very hard and energetic throughout the game, with all ten boys seeing valuable minutes. Hanad Shippy led the team with 4 points. “I was very happy to have everybody step up in this game, the bench players stepped up and led the team which is very important to me, I know I can trust those guys to come in and give us all they have whenever they step foot in the court,” said Coach Pinches.
Today the North Pointe Prep Falcons Jr. High Boys Basketball team went up against the Trivium Prep Knights in a game ending 55-17 in favor of the Knights. In the previous meeting Trivium came out with a very good full court press, but this time the Falcons were ready for it and handled it very well. Devin Covarrubias led the Falcons with 8 points. “Playing against the best team in the league is always a challenge, but each guy understood that and played as hard as they could. We will learn from this and keep moving forward,” said Coach Pinches.
Today the North Pointe Prep Falcons Jr. High Boys Basketball team faced the Odyssey Prep Minotaurs in a tightly contested game ending 27-19 in favor of the Minotaurs. The Falcons played their best game of the season, forcing turnovers and hitting incredible shots that allowed them to hang tight with Odyssey Prep all the way to the end. Devin Covarrubias led the Falcons in scoring with 12 points while Brayan Mendoza stepped up and played outstanding defense. “I think the boys learned something about themselves this game that will be very important moving forward which is, when they lay everything out on the court, they can hang with any team in the league. I’m proud of all of them for this one,” said Coach Pinches.
