JV Volleyball at Scottsdale Prep

North Pointe’s JV Volleyball team had a rough time with the powerful serving of Scottsdale Prep, and fell in the match 2-0. The Falcons did have it’s own good serves from Gen Agsaulio, Ayannah Glesmann, and Nicole Rodriguez. “The team needs to keep working hard and we will get better,” said coach Keith.

Varsity Volleyball vs Joy Christian

The Falcons finished up the first week of the season, with their 2nd straight home game, and came away with their first victory of the season with a clean sweep of Joy Christian, 3-0.  Strong serving and continued strong defense led the way for North Pointe, as they racked up 37 aces, six blocks and 23 digs as a team. Individual leaders were Abby Rice  and Kenia Esquival with 11 Aces each, and Abby Rice with six kills. “We were able to build off the momentum from last night, took control and never looked back.  Hard work created this result….they deserve this win,” said Coach Dan.

JV Volleyball vs Joy Christian

The JV Volleyball team came close but could not pull out a victory against Joy Christian. The Falcons were tied at 1-1 and tried but could not come out with a win in the 3rd game. Madi Honesto, Nicole Rodriguez, and Gabby Garcia all played well and showed impressive skills to help the Falcons throughout the match. “The JV team has continued to show improvement”, said coach Keith.

Varsity Volleyball vs Fountain Hills

Tonight North Pointe opened up the Nest and welcomed in defending 3A State Champion Fountain Hills. There was a large crowd for tonight’s games, and that extra noise revved up the Falcons.  From the first serve to the last point, your Falcons made them earn every point, with constant long rallies, strong serving, and attitude that definitely left a mark of who they are becoming. Even in the loss, they stood toe to toe with the champs and never wavered falling 3-0. Kenia Esquival started at setter tonight and finished with 10 assists, while Abby Rice and Jaci Norton led the way with five kills a piece, and Tiahna Neuman added another three. “Thank you to all the fans that showed up tonight! Your energy and loud cheering created an amazing atmosphere,” said Coach Walsh after the match.

JV Volleyball vs Fountain Hills

North Prep’s JV Volleyball team lost to a very good Fountain Hills team today. They were relaxed and played with a lot of energy and fire all through the match.The Falcons continued to show improvement and did not quit. Coach would like to recognize the play of Genevieve Agsaulio for serving, Ayannah Glesmann for passing and Nicole Rodriguez for her attacks. Coach Keith said, “I’m very pleased with the play of our team tonight, they showed they could they can compete against a team of this caliber.”

Varsity Volleyball at Veritas Prep

The Falcons opened up the 2017 campaign by traveling to Veritas Prep, which is the first of three games in a row this week. Tonight was a bit of a rough start losing 3-0 against a much stronger opponent, but the effort was there. Leaders for the Falcons were Martha Cress and Jaci Norton each having two kills a piece, and Martha Cress led in serving with two aces. “We are returning seven varsity players, and our team has grown from nine last year to 12 this year. The transition of our program is going through a process, and we will have bumps in the road, but we will get there,” said Coach Dan.

JV Volleyball at Veritas Prep

The JV Volleyball team started it’s season a little nervous and excited. They didn’t play well the first game but settled down and played a lot better for the second game. The Falcons dropped the match to Veritas Prep, 2-0. There is a lot of potential within the team and development will be key. It was only their second practice under coach Keith before playing a game. “We are going to continue to work hard and improve each and every day,” said Coach Keith.
