The Falcons opened up their last home stand of the season hosting 6th ranked Valley Christian. North Pointe fought hard in each of the three games, but ultimately fell, 3-0. The team was led by Emma Wales with five kills, seven digs and Jaci Norton with five kills and five digs, and Abbie Barajas with four kills and an ace. “There is a reason Valley Christian is ranked so highly, they have a lot of weapons, and it was too much for us to overcome tonight. We played as a team, fought for everything and challenged them deep into the third game. We gave them everything we had, which is all we can ask for,” said Coach Walsh.
The North Pointe JV Volleyball lost in two straight games to Valley Christian. The JV started slow, then had some really good rallies. They played much better in game two but lost. Serving well tonight for North Pointe were: Gen Agsaulio, Kristen Ryba, Shavonne Street and Ayannah Glesmann. Shavonne Street contributed with two blocks. “We are getting a little better with each game and will continue to always work hard,” coach Keith.
North Pointe hosted ASU Prep for their last game before their tournament this weekend, and made it a clean sweep for the win. Game 1 was a point for trade off throughout most of the game, until your Falcons clinched it with the final three points. Game 2 the Falcons were down 11-18, and went on a run to go ahead 20-18, before finally winning 25-22. Game 3 the Falcons were in control the entire way, before closing it out 25-18. Emma Wales led the team with six kills and five Aces, while Jaci Norton added six kills and Abby Rice had five kills. “It was about finding ourselves again tonight, and they responded and had fun,” said Coach Walsh.
The North Pointe JV Volleyball team traveled to Fountain Hills for the 2nd of 3 away games and lost in two straight sets. The team carried over things they learned from the first time we played them and played better this time. North Pointe started off with good serving from Gen Agsaulio, Gabbie Garcia and Shavonne Street with serving, passing, two kills and a block. “We will keep at it and just work to get better,” said coach Keith.
Tonight your Falcons traveled to Buckeye to match up against Odyssey, and lost in three. This was their 2nd match with them inside of a week, and showed growth from the last time, bettering the scores, and making it much harder for Odyssey this time around. North Pointe was led by Jaci Norton with five kills and two aces, followed by Abby Rice with four kills, and Emma Wales with three kills and two aces. “We are focusing on creating a new North Pointe Volleyball and continuing to work hard,” said Coach Dan.
North Pointe’s JV Volleyball team began the first of three away games with a loss to Odyssey. The team played well at times with nice rallies and good ball handling but could not overcome Odyssey’s serves. Tonight’s standouts were Genevieve Agsaulio with two kills and good serves, Shavonne Street with a block and good serving, Gabbie Garcia with an ace serve and Haley Flannagan with an ace serve. “We will keep trying to improve with every game,” said Coach Keith.
