Varsity Cross Country – AIA Sectionals at Rose Mofford

Today’s race was at Rose Mofford for Sectionals.  Paula Dellinger, Victoria Munoz, Matt Rice, and Michael Ulloa all got their fastest times of the season.  We had a great season this year.  It was great to see everyone shed so much time off from the first meet.  “We plan on continuing to train hard in the offseason and hit the ground running next year,” said Coach Harrison.

Varsity Cross Country at Cactus Shadows

We had our last meet before sectionals tonight. We ran against Arcadia, Norte Dame, and the host Cactus Shadows. Most of our runners had their best times of the year. Minh Nguyen got first for our guys and improved his time by 90 seconds. Ana Gallardo improved her time by more than 3 minutes. “We have three weeks to train for sectionals and hope to set some personal bests,” said Coach Harrison.

Varsity Cross Country at Moon Valley HS

Tonight’s meet was against Betty Fairfax, Central, and the host Moon Valley. The majority of our runners continued to improve their times. Sofia Cornejo dropped nearly 6 minutes from her last race. Mary Mena has been working hard in practice and has decreased her time by over 8 minutes since her first race.  Brandon Deng improved his time by almost 5 minutes. Mariah Albe ran a great race and finished 4th place overall for the girls. “We have 4 weeks until our next meet and I’m looking forward to putting in some hard work and seeing some big improvements in our times,” said Coach Harrison.

Varsity Cross Country at ALA Invite

Today’s race was an invitational at Caesar Chavez Park against nine other teams. The Falcons ran well and the majority of the team beat their times from last week’s race. Mariah Albe finished 17th overall out of 92 girls. Faith Guy also had an impressive outing finishing 4 minutes faster than her previous race. “It was great to see all the times drop in today’s meet.  We hope to continue improving our times during next weeks race,” said Head Coach Josh Harrison.

Varsity Cross Country at Rose Mofford

We ran against Shadow Ridge, Cactus and Cortez at Rose Mofford today. We ran well especially for it being our first meet. This was the first time some of our runners ran a 5k. McKenzie Mordhorst and Desirae Mena finished 8th while Roger Gallardo was our fastest guy and finished in 26 minutes. “Now we know what times we need to beat for our next meet in a week,” said Coach Harrison.
