We had a wild game against Page tonight at Moon Valley. We scored in the first ten minutes of the game. Omar Escamilla set up Mario Montoya on the goal. Page tied it up 1-1 before halftime and took a 2-1 lead in the second half. Omar set up Mario for another goal to tie it, 2-2. We ended up losing 3-2 in a heartbreaker in overtime. Mario played probably his best game of his North Pointe career and left it all on the field tonight. Our keeper Brayan Juarez had some amazing saves, the ref even stopped and applauded one of his saves. “This was The last game for seniors Jose Martinez and Mario Montoya. I have been lucky enough to coach these guys for the last 4 years. Jose has been a great leader by example and Mario really stepped up this year and pushed these guys to improve. They will greatly be missed both for their play and for their desire to win,” said Coach Harrison.
We played against North Phoenix Prep at Moon Valley tonight. We came out and played well from the beginning and won 8-0. Jacob Wood, Mario Montoya, Omar Escammila, Alex Ibanez, Chris Granados, and Muhammed Alkhakany scored goals today. We’ve been having some good practices of late and it was good to see the results on the field. We have an important game on Thursday and hope to continue playing well.
We played against valley Christian tonight at apollo. Im very proud of the way our guys played tonight. Everyone played real hard and had a real close game. Valley scored early but we scored a few minutes later off a great free kick from Mario Montoya that Jose Martinez connected with to tie the game up. We battled hard in the second half and came real close to scoring on a few occasions. Valley scored with 10 minutes left and won 2-1. It was unfortunate that we lost but I’m very happy with the effort. Now we just need to bring that same intensity for the rest of season when we get back from break.
We played Glendale Prep at Moon Valley tonight. We played well the first half and were tied 0-0. We gave up to many mistakes in the second half and lost the match, 4-0. Our keeper Brayan Juarez played great but we just let the other team have too many opportunities. “We play again tomorrow night and hope to cut down on the mistakes that we made tonight,” said Coach Harrison.
We played Fountain Hills tonight at Moon Valley. We played hard all game, but lost 4-1. It was good to see us improve on some of the mistakes we made last game. We still have a lot to work on but this is a fun young group to coach. Freshman Simon Lopez made a nice shot from the top of the box and almost had another off the post. “We have a bunch of games in the next few days and hope to keep making improvements every game,” said Coach Harrison.
