Varsity Boys Basketball at Yuma Catholic

Tonight the Falcons hosted Yuma Catholic and lost 75-45. Leading scorer for the Falcons was Travis Evans with 11 points. Noah Farnsworth added 10 points. Down by 8 at the end of the third quarter, the Falcons held strong to trail by only 9 at halftime. A big third quarter from Yuma would be the end for the Falcons. “I loved our energy to start the game. In the end we just couldn’t stop their big kids. They wore us down.”

Varsity Girls Basketball at Yuma Catholic

North Pointe Prep played a strong game against a Top 10 team in the 3A Region Yuma Catholic but lost 42-34. The Lady Falcons were led by Jalisa Garcia with 13 points and followed by Jasmine Langston with 10 points. “They played great defense and moved the ball well on offense and in the end gave a very strong showing,” said Coach Plaza.

JV Boys Basketball at Yuma Catholic

Today the Falcons took on the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks. It was a very intense, high scoring affair. The Shamrocks took the win with a final score of 75 to 49. The leading scorers for the Falcons were Emir Hurtic and Danny Hyun with 11 points each. Coach Pacitti – ” Despite the final score, I’m actually happy with how the guys competed tonight. We did all of the right things, we just couldn’t get our shots to fall but it was clear how much progress we’ve made through this season. “

JV Girls Basketball at Yuma Catholic

The final home game of the season ended on a sad note for the JV Lady Falcons as they lost by a score of 53-27 to Yuma Catholic. Desirae Mena lead the scoring with 9 points. Sumeja Habibovic and Sharon Larsala each contributed 6 points. Cianya Murillo added 4 points while Abigail Zugaste tossed in 2 points. Coach Reed said, “In this game we basically defeated ourselves. Our poor passing and excessive fouling lead to easy points for our opponent. We really need to focus for our final two games.”

Varsity Boys Basketball at Fountain Hills

Tonight the Falcons traveled to Fountain Hills and lost 72-49. Leading scorer for the Falcons was Ammar Ceman with 13 points. Travis Evans had 10 points and Mason Torrez added 9 points. Down 16-14 at the end of the first quarter, the Falcons went cold in the second quarter only scoring 7 points. “We didn’t make any shots for a stretch in the second quarter and you can’t do that against the #2 team in the state. We did a lot of nice things tonight but came up short.”

Varsity Girls Basketball at Fountain Hills

North Pointe Prep lost to Fountain Hills 72-37. The Lady Falcons were led by Xena Benitez with 11 points followed by Jalisa Garcia with 
9 points while Josh Martin chipped in with 8 points. “We were not sharp defensively and we made too many passing mistakes. We need to just regroup and continue to get better,” said Coach Plaza.
