North Pointe’s Offensive Front (Seniors Omar Carter, Michael Zipprich, Oscar Molinar, and Juniors Jay Brodeur, Tyler Knight, Matthew McGovern, and Connor Christensen) lead the way for the Falcon’s 525 rushing yards and a 52-14 win over Scottsdale Prep. Thanks to the Offensive Front, Senior Joe Soriano-Garfias is the #1 scoring player in Arizona and the Falcons are the #1 scoring team in the Nation (among teams with only 7 games). All three of North Pointe’s Offensive Backs are among the State’s Top 10 Scoring Leaders. Senior Nijel Rosado is #6 and Senior Davis Vargas is #9. In the win over Scottsdale Prep, Soriano-Garfias rushed for 330 yards and 4 TD’s and Vargas added 3 rushing TD’s as well. On defense the Falcons had two takeaways, a fumble recovery by Christensen and an interception by Soriano-Garfias. Freshman Quentin Simmons played well in the defensive secondary causing a fumble and holding the Spartan receivers to minimal yards through the air. Coach Norris: We were able to gain 525 yards on the ground without executing very well up front. I am very proud of how our young men played 48 minutes of Falcon ground and pound football. Another big step toward 11.02.18 was taken by our young men tonight. One Team, One Dream.
