The Falcons faced the North Phoenix Prep Gladiators tonight in their home opener. The Falcons had a strong start in set one, but a few unforced errors resulted in a loss of the first game. The Falcons bounced back in game two and battled to win the set. Excellent serve receive passing by Abby Rice (passing 2.0) and Martha Cress (passing 1.7) contributed to the Falcons’ ability to make plays and keep the Gladiators on their toes. Unfortunately the Falcons fell the last two sets, but not without a fight. They battled each point and showed the fans watching what it means to be relentless. As a team, the Falcons gave 14 aces and 50 digs. “The energy in the gym tonight was incredible. We are getting better every practice and every match. We were in control more often tonight and able to make plays, which kept the Gladiators out of system a lot. We will continue to look forward, learn and improve,” says Coach Wolfer. The Falcons have their first conference match next Tuesday against Valley Lutheran.
