On Saturday, April 6th, JH Track & Field competed in the Great Hearts West Valley Meet at Apollo High School. For the third consecutive time, Kailyn Banks placed first in the 100m Hurdles, with a time of 18.5 seconds. Hope Carney set PR of 31.26, taking first place in the 200m. Alexandra Costarella took first in both the discus and shot put, setting new PRs in both events and automatically qualifying for the championship meet. Sam Garlick and Frank Bannister both set PRs in the 800m, while Timothy McCoy PR’d in all four of his events. “We are halfway through the season and already have several athletes qualified or poised to qualify for the final championship meet. I am extremely proud of the hard work these student athletes have done to get themselves to this point,” said Coach Johnson.
