Varsity Football at Yuma Catholic

Our North Pointe Falcon Football Team made the long trek to face the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks tonight and suffered a loss of 58-0. Defensively, the Falcons held Yuma Catholic to one score in the 2nd half and was led by Daniel Ritchie’s eight tackles and David Vargas’ six tackles. On offense, the Falcons had a balanced rushing attack with Joe Soriano leading the running back group with 30 rushing yards. Nijel Rosado added 29 yards on the ground and Daniel Ritchie had 22 yards. Quarterback Cylar Alley completed three of his four passes for 41 yards with the longest going to Nijel Rosado for 20 yards. After the game Coach Norris said, “As always, tonight was a learning experience for our young team. I see some fight in our players eyes and that is encouraging as a coach to know your players desire greatness. Even though our win/loss record does not reflect the hard work our young men have put in, I know in my heart that these difficult games will pay off in the future.”
