Jr. High Track and Field at Odyssey Institute

Jr. High Track and Field hosted and competed in the Great Hearts West Valley Meet at Odyssey on Saturday, March 25th. All of North Pointe’s athletes set a new personal record in at least one of their events. Hannah Vogler and Sophie Jensen each added approximately 2 feet to their shot put throws, and Grace Chalman added the same to her long jump. The girls 4×100 relay dropped its time by 2 seconds, and Kailyn Banks placed 7th overall her first time in the 400m sprint with a time of 1:17. For the boys, Chris Kohly shaved over 2 seconds from his 100m Hurdles time, finishing 6th overall with a time of 18.9. Caleb Zugaste also placed in the top 8 in both the 100m and 200m sprints. Coach Johnson commented that “this was a particularly good showing by the entire team, especially coming off a two week break. I am confident that our next meet will be even better.”
