Jr. High Track and Field at Bourgade Catholic

The Jr. High Falcons competed in their “last chance” meet at Bourgade High School Friday, April 22. Lazia Burks had a “threepeat”, winning the 200m, 400m, and 800m races for the third consecutive time. Andrew Carson and Gerald Vaughn both shaved time off their PRs in the 200m dash, each winning his heat handily. The boys’ 4x100m relay (Ali Al-Shiteawi, David Adams, Andrew Carson, and Gerald Vaughn) took third place overall. Jennifer Encinas-Valenzuela placed second in the 100m Hurdles, and all the team’s throwers improved upon their previous personal best distances. As the season approaches its end, Coach Johnson is “confident that several athletes have the potential to medal at our championship meet next weekend.”
