Varsity  Girls Cross Country at Skunk Creek Linear Park

The Varsity Girls Cross Country team competed today at Skunk Creek Linear Park. The meet was hosted by Apollo High School and also included Copper Canyon and Aqua Fria High School. Finishing the 3.9k course first for the falcons was sophomore Emily Morgan Henderson with a time of 21:28. The next girls’ finisher was senior Alexis Yanda with a time of 21:32. For third, fourth, and fifth place, respectively, was Mariah Albe, McKenzie Mordhorst, and Deserae Mena to fill up the top five scoring spots for the Falcons. “It was a great start for the season. I think a lot of the girls surprised themselves with how well they did. They saw that the work they’re putting in at practice is paying off, and that will motivate them to continue to work hard,” said Coach Beam.
