The Lady Falcons participated in a cancer awareness event at Tonopah Valley’s home field on Friday afternoon, in front of a full crowd. The Lady Falcons sported pink socks for breast cancer awareness and the Tonopah Valley Phoenix wore their peach colors for uterine cancer, took pictures together, and demonstrated some pre-game sportsmanship and comradery.
The Lady Falcons controlled the majority of the game, holding on to a four run lead going into the last inning. However, after a series of errors and solid hits by Tonopah Valley coming all at once, the Lady Falcons would fall short and lost by one in the bottom of the 7th inning.
“These are the games that count the most, controlling the pace and tempo going into the last inning with a comfortable lead. You have to finish strong. Hopefully, these final games of the year we will finish as strong as we started out,” said Coach Gil.
