The Boy’s Track and Field team competed at the Hal Anders Invitational on Saturday, April 11, 2015. There were a lot of athletes that set new PRs, personal records, at this meet. Bryce McGovern improved his time in the 110 hurdles coming across the line with an 18.63. In the 1600m run, Angel Munoz took two seconds off his time and ran a 5:06.44. Nick Alley came in with a 5:15.76, an improvement of eight seconds! Tyrice Murphy had a PR of 57.06 in the 400m. Tommy Murillo took eight seconds off his time in the 800m with a time of 2:10.11. In the shot put, Joe Traslavina had a new PR of 36 feet. Ali Hussein improved this put by almost five feet with a new PR of 35 feet 3.5 inches. Jeremiah Armistead improved his discus throw by more than 10 feet with a 99 feet 9 inch throw. Hussein Hussein threw the discus 96 feet improving his prior throw by about 15 feet. Valentin Dobrev tied the school record in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet 6 inches.Esteban Juarez set a new PR and a new school record in the triple jump with a 36 foot 11 inch jump. Nathan Underwood and Michael Gibson have been working hard at practice and continue to do well in their respective events, the 200m and the 400m. The 4X400 meter relay team ended the meet on a high note. Tommy Murillo, Ian Cocoran, Enis Tunic, and Ahmed Mustafic improved their former time of 3:43.8 to 3:38.96, a new school record! “The athletes have been working hard in practice, and it is great to see the continual improvement in personal records and new school records being broken,” said Coach Wilson.
