After a slow start to the game on both sides and with the score still in our favor (3-1) through the first 4 innings, the Lady Falcons broke the game wide open scoring 7 runs in the 5th inning.
Even with Tonopah Valley’s late charge in the 6th inning, North Pointe Prep Softball remained victorious winning 10-4. Key offensive notables: (Sr.) Adrean Aguirre: 2 triples and Player of the Game: (Sr.) Brittney Barragan: 1-3 with 2 walks, 6 stolen bases. Brittney pitched her 1st complete game of the year with 8 strike outs.
Overall, the Lady Falcons stayed aggressive on the bases with 13 stolen bases and scoring 5 runs on past balls at home – this made an obvious difference going into the later innings.
“Everyone on the roster contributed in this must ‘Section’ win. We have worked very hard at leadership on the field, softball intelligence, execution, and especially composure in all aspects of the game over a short span of time. Putting in all that hard work is paying off; yet right now, staying healthy is most important thing that will keep us on track for a successful rest of the season.” said Head Coach Marcos Gil.
