The Girl’s Varsity Track and Field team had their first meet Friday, March 6, 2015 at Corona del Sol in Tempe, Arizona. The girl’s 3200 meter relay team of Rhiannon Casselman, Sabrina Bohn, Yasmin Aguilar, and Lauren Miller started off the meet on a high note. They improved their relay time from a 12:56.74 last year to a 12:18.01 this year. Priscilla Morales was able to improve her 400 meter dash results by a second. Yazmin Aguilar improved her 800 meter time by more than 5 seconds. Karen Padilla, who competed in the long jump, was able to jump 14’2.25″ and finished 18th out of 30 athletes. Paula Dellinger broke the school record in the 800 meter with an impressive time of 2:38.05. Tyeanna Dumas, Paula Dellinger, and Karen Padilla are all ranked in the top ten of Division III. “As coaches, it is exciting to watch our athletes working hard at practice and seeing that hard work pay off at a meet. Our athletes were competing against Division I and II teams and were doing well. The athletes work so well together and are very supportive of one another which is great to see,” said Coach Erickson.
